Ryan Curran had the game’s best chances but, after being unfortunate to nod wide in the opening period, he was likewise unable to steer a second-half attempt on target before the match ended in controversy when visiting sub Dean Jarvis’ foul on Joe Gormley went undetected by the officials; denying the Reds a penalty and ensuring a goalless finish to proceedings.
