Thanks account

Many thanks to every Cliftonville supporter who sponsored a player’s Clearer Water Irish Cup Final jersey.

Although we didn’t get the result we wanted on the day, we hope that the shirts provide a happy memento from a week that ultimately ended in celebration as the Reds bounced back to qualify for the UEFA Conference League by recording memorable away wins over Glentoran and Coleraine in the European Play-Offs.

We are likewise grateful to Bogart Menswear for providing our Cup Final suits and place on record our appreciation to EG Freight and the Lawlors for their own contributions in this regard.

The North Belfast Reds Tommy Breslin CSC are thanked for their generous sponsorship of the team’s transport to and from Windsor Park, while we also acknowledge Brian Campbell’s role in coordinating the day’s proceedings.

On a wider note, Cliftonville FC offers gratitude to our supporters for the wonderful backing you provided throughout the 2024/25 season. From the Skonto Stadium in Latvia to the home comforts of Solitude, the celebrations at the Showgrounds and everywhere in between, the Red Army made themselves heard loud and proud.

Congratulations, too, to our players, management and backroom staff for delivering silverware in the form of the BetMcLean Cup and securing European qualification – achievements that would have been lauded in any circumstances, but which are all the more remarkable for having been realised against the tragic backdrop of the devastating loss of team-mate Michael Newberry in mid-season.

To the Newberry family and Michael’s many friends, rest assured that he remains a notable and much-cherished member of our 2024/25 squad, and that the number 5 sported on the front of our jerseys during the above-mentioned successes guarantee his association with those celebrations in perpetuity.

As the curtain falls on the Men’s campaign, don’t forget that Cliftonville Ladies’ new season has recently kicked off and they already have another Cup Final to look forward to when they bid to lift the VBet League Cup for a third successive year.

Full details of that contest, plus the rest of our Ladies fixtures across a string of competitions throughout 2025, will be regularly communicated on our social media channels and here on cliftonvillefc.net, so you’ll have no shortage of footballing action to keep you entertained throughout the summer and beyond.
