Bolt for the Blues
Jim Magilton is hopeful that Tuesday night’s victory over Coleraine has given his players the boost they need ahead of tomorrow’s Sports Direct Premiership clash with Linfield.
The Reds travel to Windsor Park off the back of a hard-fought but well deserved victory over the Bannsiders and, having encouraged his players to believe in themselves ahead of their midweek mission, Magilton wants them to set about facing the Blues with a similar mindset.
“It’s clearly going to be a very challenging game but it’s one we need to approach as positively as we can,” he said.
“After the results that we’d had, we needed a confidence boost and we got that against Coleraine on Tuesday night.
“We’d spoken about how, when your confidence is down, you play with more hesitancy and things maybe aren’t quite as free flowing as they would be when your confidence is up, but I think we saw on Tuesday night that belief levels were higher, and that’s down to putting the ball in the net and obviously winning the game. It all goes hand in hand and it’s something we now want to build on after a difficult month or so.
“We’ve had a few days since then to settle down again and prepare for this next match and hopefully what happened during the week can be a kickstart for us.”
