Brought to mind
Cliftonville’s mindset is key to laying the foundations for a good display against Portadown tomorrow, according to Jim Magilton.
The Reds boss was delighted to see his side back up last weekend’s impressive Sports Direct Premiership victory over Coleraine by overcoming Ballymena United in Tuesday night’s County Antrim Shield semi-final at The Showgrounds.
The second of five consecutive away games, Magilton is well aware of the challenges that tomorrow’s trip to Shamrock Park will pose but is confident his players are ready to address their task head on.
“We have to carry on the way we have been going,” he said.
“After a midweek game where matches come thick and fast, it’s about body counts to see who’s available and you assess the group.
“We go to Portadown well aware that they’re a good side, especially at home, but it’s down to us now. It’s really down to how we approach games and at the moment, we’re in a really good place in terms of our mindset and that has to continue.”
