Jamming the breaks
Jim Magilton is hopeful that the international break has afforded his Cliftonville squad an opportunity to regroup ahead of tomorrow’s return to action.
The Reds get back to Sports Direct Premiership duty with a home game against table-topping Coleraine and, though his side exhibited promising form before their two-week sabbatical, Magilton revealed that some knocks and niggles within the camp will have benefited from some downtime.
“We’ve had a few serious injuries,” he explained.
“Odhran Casey played against Dungannon with a swollen ankle and Conor Barr missed the game because of an injury against Strabane in the League Cup.
“It’s given us a chance to regroup and get everybody back fit and well. We’ve had two weeks to really refocus and we’ll try to hit the ground running again.
“Coleraine are a quality side but, as ever, our focus will be on our own performance and what we can bring to the game.
“All the games in this League are very, very difficult whether you play top of the League or bottom of the League, they pose their own problems.”
