Cliftonville 3-1 Glenavon
Harry Wilson scored his first Cliftonville goal to help the Reds get the better of Glenavon at Solitude this afternoon.
Seeking their first victory of the Sports Direct Premiership season, Jim Magilton’s side led at half-time thanks firstly to a powerful Joe Gormley blast and then a wonderful one-handed save from PJ Morrison to turn Jack Malone’s free-kick on to the bar.
Wilson curled home to make it 2-0 early in the second period and, though Cliftonville endured a few nervy moments in the aftermath of Francely Lomboto reducing the arrears, Jonny Addis made the points safe when he got the slightest of touches to turn the ball into the net after Jack Keaney had flicked Joe Sheridan’s free-kick on.
