Less than a week remains until Cliftonville face Derry City in Joe Gormley’s Testimonial Match and, as we prepare to celebrate the contribution of a modern day legend, what better way to continue our countdown than in the company of two other respected Reds icons?

Solitude heroes George McMullan and Chris Scannell have paid tribute to Joe The Goal in a short video produced by our star striker’s Testimonial Committee and you can see what they had to say about the leading scorer in the history of Ireland’s Oldest Football Club below.

Joe was on the scoresheet in Cliftonville’s friendly victory over Dundela yesterday and, following this Thursday’s pre-season encounter with Loughgall, will be bidding to do likewise when the Candystripes and his former strike partner Liam Boyce visit north Belfast next weekend.

Tickets for the occasion are available online, with supporters reminded that the match will kick off at the revised time of 1pm.
