Late threefall

Cliftonville Ladies 3-3 Cork City Women

Cliftonville Ladies suffered more injury-time woe as Cork City Women claimed a late point in this afternoon’s All-Island Cup clash at Solitude.

Having lost to Galway United with the final kick of the game in their Group C opener last month, the Reds were pegged back right at the death as Ciara McNamara rescued a draw for the visitors.

Teegan Lynch had given Cliftonville a 28th minute lead but Christina Dring’s quick leveller endured honours were even at the break.

Lynch’s second of the day restored the hosts’ advantage and, when Caitlin McGuinness put the Reds 3-1 in front, it looked like John McGrady’s side were on the path to victory.

Cork rallied, however, and reduced the arrears when Fiana Bradley found the net just past the hour and the contest remained on a knife-edge until deep into additional time when McNamara had the afternoon’s final say.
