Kearney’s Tur of duty

Shea Kearney started two of Northern Ireland Under-21s’ three fixtures in Turkey over the course of the last week.

After being named in the side that drew 1-1 with Moldova last Thursday, the Cliftonville defender was on the bench for Saturday’s 1-0 reverse at the hands of Ukraine’s Under-20s.

Tommy Wright’s side – who were in Antalya Province as part of their preparations for the forthcoming European Championship qualifiers – completed their trip against Uzbekistan last night, with Kearney restored to the line-up for the 1-0 victory, which came courtesy of a Fra Turley strike early in the second-half.
