Champing to return

Cliftonville Ladies’ defence of the Sports Direct Women’s Premiership title will begin against Linfield Women.

John McGrady’s side – who won every single League game on their way to being crowned invincible Champions last season – will kick things off against the Blues at Solitude on Friday, May 9.

The League’s new format will see each of the eight competing teams playing against each other home and away over 14 rounds before the division splits into two sections for a further three crunch fixtures.

Prior to that, however, don’t forget that the Reds will be in VBet League Cup action against Derry City on Friday, April 11.

Their defence of that particular trophy will then continue with a Group A trip to Linfield seven days later before hosting Lisburn Ladies at Solitude on Friday, May 2.
