Guinns blazing
Cliftonville 2-0 Loughgall
Academy graduate Stephen McGuinness scored his first goal for Cliftonville as the Reds got back to winning ways in the Sports Direct Premiership with victory over Loughgall this afternoon.
The 21-year-old – who recently returned from a loan spell with Bangor – drilled in a 93rd minute security strike to make sure of the points after Jonny Addis’ header early in the second-half had set the hosts on their way.
Cliftonville had lived dangerously in the first-half of a low-key affair at Solitude, where James Carroll headed against the post for a Villagers outfit that also saw a Nathaniel Ferris effort ruled out for offside.
Addis’ finish from Arran Pettifer’s delivery ensured Loughgall were unable to begin the second period with the same level of momentum, with McGuinness wrapping things up with a well-taken strike in injury-time.
