Reddy for anything

Jim Magilton insists that Bangor will command Cliftonville’s full respect for this evening’s Bet McLean Cup second round tie.

While the Reds travel to Clandeboye Park in good form, the Seasiders have also impressed of late and, with eight wins in their last nine Playr-Fit Championship fixtures, sit five points clear at the top of the table.

“They’re a team that’s used to winning and I’m sure their confidence will be very high, so we have to be on our guard,” said Magilton.

“I’ve been on the other side of Cup ties like this where a team from a lower division hosts a team from a division above and I know what it’s like – they’ll be licking their lips for this one and they’ll be ready. If you’re in the Bangor camp, you’re ready for this one, no doubt about it.

“We have to approach it in the right manner and make sure we have the correct mentality and attitude about a game like this because you can’t afford to take anything for granted in football.

“Bangor will demand a performance of us and we just need to make sure we go about things the same way we have been doing. Anything less than that and we open ourselves up for trouble.”
