Finn Harps 1-1 Cliftonville

It was honours even in Ballybofey as Cliftonville and Finn Harps played out a 1-1 draw in this afternoon’s friendly.

Jim Magilton had vowed to be “creative” with his team selection less than 48 hours after the Reds had been in Charity Shield action and this was reflected in the six changes he made to the line-up that had started Friday’s encounter with Larne at Inver Park.

Despite a bright opening from Cliftonville, it was the home side who edged in front when recent recruit Sean Patton opened the scoring to give Harps a half-time lead, with Luke Conlan’s leveller after the interval ensuring the contest finished all square.
