Cliftonville Football Club are very pleased to announce the signing of Michael Newberry.
The 26-year-old Englishman, who can operate both centrally and on the right side of defence, moves to Solitude following three-and-a-half years with Linfield.
Born in Newcastle Upon Tyne, Newberry began his career with Newcastle United and won the Club’s prestigious ‘Wor Jackie’ award for his Academy exploits in 2016 before embarking upon a two-year spell with Icelandic side Vikingur Olafsvik.
A former Northern Ireland Under-21 international, Newberry is Reds boss Jim Magilton’s first signing of the summer as Cliftonville make preparations for a 2024/25 campaign that will commence with a welcome return to the UEFA Conference League.
