Fame and fortune
The doors to the Cliftonville Football Club Hall of Fame will reopen on Saturday night.
Named in honour of founding father John McCredy McAlery, the Hall of Fame was established to celebrate and highlight the achievements of our greatest ever players, Managers, coaches, ancillary staff, dedicated boardroom personnel and various off-field servants, with the latest inductee set to be honoured at the forthcoming Cliftonville FC Awards.
The identity of this week’s addition will remain a strict secret until the moment their entrance is announced, however they are assured to find themselves in the most esteemed – if not necessarily plentiful – company.
For just 18 people currently hold Cliftonville Hall of Fame status, with our 1979 Irish Cup heroes joining Chris Scannell, Dr John Campbell, George McMullan, Tommy Breslin and the eponymous McAlery in the distinguished assembly, which was established back in 2014.
Ticket holders for Saturday night’s Cliftonville FC Awards at the Hilton Hotel will be the first to learn of the new arrival, details of which will also be communicated live on social media.
