Lyttle issues fan apology
Gerard Lyttle says it’s only right that collective responsibility is taken for Cliftonville’s chastening defeat by Larne at Inver Park.
The Reds fell to their biggest loss in almost five years – and their heaviest ever Premiership reverse – as the hosts rattled in eight goals on an evening that saw Ben Wilson register a consolation from the penalty spot.
Admitting he was shocked by what he witnessed, Lyttle – standing in for the suspended Jim Magilton – commented: “No-one expected that.
“We’ve set standards this season and this was well below it. All we can do is apologise to our fans and make sure we respond and put it right.
“We made mistakes and we all take responsibility as a group.”
