Chris Curran says excitement levels are rising as Cliftonville’s season enters its business stage.
The regular Sports Direct Premiership campaign comes to a conclusion following tonight’s Solitude showdown with Larne and, after five mouthwatering post-split fixtures in the month ahead, the Reds will take on Linfield in the Clearer Water Irish Cup Final as part of a schedule that skipper Curran is relishing being a part of.
“These are the games that you really want to be involved in,” he says.
“These are the games that you have the opportunity to showcase your talent in. That’s something that we try to emphasise to the younger players of the squad – these shouldn’t be pressure games, these are the games that you should want to go out and express yourself in and show everybody how good you are because you wouldn’t be playing for Cliftonville if you weren’t a good player and if you weren’t good enough to compete at the top.
“It’s a really good and exciting part of the year when you’re going up against the best of the best. We’ll move from this game into the split fixtures and then it’s a cup final every week.
“We can’t wait and there is a really good level of excitement around the camp.”
