Jonny Addis’ rocket of an equaliser against Newry City has been voted January’s Sports Direct Goal of the Month.

Assuming possession inside the hosts’ half, the defender – who was yesterday named Player of the Month by the NI Football Writers’ Association – unleashed an outrageous long range blast that roared into the top corner to draw the Reds level at The Showgrounds.

The finish will now be automatically shortlisted for Goal of the Season at the NI Football Awards at the end of the campaign.
