Cliftonville produced a clinical counter-attacking display to get the better of Carrick Rangers this afternoon.

Rory Hale’s first-half finish set the Reds on course at the Loughview Leisure Arena, where Ronan Doherty had an effort ruled out for offside ahead of Ronan Hale doubling the Reds’ advantage.

Substitute Sam Ashford then teed Stephen Mallon up to seal the deal late on as Cliftonville emerged from a notoriously difficult venue with three precious points in tow.
