Ronan Doherty says Cliftonville are determined to combine substance with style when they welcome Newry City to Solitude tomorrow.

The Reds enter this weekend’s Sports Direct Premiership clash off the back of defeats to Larne and Dungannon Swifts, with Doherty insisting that an improvement in both display and outcome is high on the squad’s agenda.

“We definitely have to demand a reaction,” he asserts.

“We should have had a response against Dungannon from Friday’s setback. We’ve no option now but to definitely respond on Saturday.

“It was a really, really disappointing result and performance. We have to turn up on Saturday with the performance, result and everything”
