Opportunity knocks

Jim Magilton wants Cliftonville to relish the chance to demonstrate their abilities when they take on Larne this evening.

The Reds travel to Inver Park six days after a gritty away win over Coleraine following a performance which, if truth be told, was less convincing than the one they had delivered in losing to Linfield the previous week, with Magilton eager to see his charges rise to the big occasion again.

“Historically, it’s a very difficult place to go,” he said.

“They’re the current Champions, they’re well drilled and well coached by the Lynch brothers and big Gary Haveron.

“We’re up against a top quality side but we’ll go there and try to play with courage and bravery on the ball.

“It’s a game that you relish. These are the games you want to play in and going there on a Friday night under the lights is a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase what we’re all about and hopefully we can play better over 90 minutes than we did at Coleraine – as we did against Linfield.”
