Linfield Women 0-2 Cliftonville Ladies

A stunning strike from Toni Leigh Finnegan gave Cliftonville Ladies a valuable breakthrough goal in tonight’s Sports Direct Women’s Premiership victory over a stubborn Linfield Women outfit.

The Reds were frustrated for long stretches at Midgley Park but, following a goalless first-half, finally found the opener when Finnegan let fly with a rasping blast from distance.

Hannah Doherty then provided some extra security when she made it 2-0 as the Champions won their game in hand to close the gap to Glentoran Women at the top of the table to three points.
