Skin and hone

Fi Morgan expects Mid Ulster Ladies to play “through their skin” when Cliftonville Ladies visit Cookstown this evening.

The Reds sit six points behind Glentoran Women at the top of the Sports Direct Women’s Premiership and, though they have a game in hand over their rivals, Morgan acknowledges there is no margin for error amid a hectic schedule that has seen the Champions targeting silverware on a number of fronts.

“I think this season has been really exciting,” she explains.

“I love playing a game with my team and looking forward to the next one so soon. I think it benefits you not just as a team but as a player on and off the pitch .

“We know this is the halfway mark in the season, though we still all have the collective goal and we want to stay consistent and hard working.”

Though tonight’s hosts find themselves in a difficult run of form, Morgan expects nothing less than a stern challenge.

“Mid Ulster are an upcoming side and have done really well this season,” she adds.

“Every game, they have played through their skin and given it their all every match, so it will be exciting to put our team to the test.”
