Linfield Women 2-7 Cliftonville Ladies

Kirsty McGuinness, Caitlin McGuinness and Fi Morgan all hit doubles as Cliftonville Ladies booked their place in the third round of the Electric Ireland Women’s Challenge Cup at the expense of Linfield.

Danielle Maxwell was the Reds’ other scorer at Midgley Park, where the visitors bounced back in style from the disappointment of last week’s defeat in the Avenir Sports All-Island Cup Final.

Kirsty McGuinness opened the scoring and younger sister Caitlin made it 2-0, completing her own brace after the Blues had reduced the deficit.

Maxwell hit the fourth and Morgan made it 5-1 before half-time ahead of Kirsty McGuinness registering the opening strike of the second-half.

After Morgan had become the third player of the night to double up, the scoring was complete in the closing stages when the hosts bagged a consolation.
