Top billing
Cliftonville Ladies will have to be on top of their game to overcome Glentoran Women this evening – so says Marissa Callaghan.
Both sides will put their 100% records in the Sports Direct Women’s Premiership on the line at Solitude, where the presence of the NI Football League’s live stream cameras adds a further sense of occasion to the eagerly-anticipated showdown.
“The Glens are a tough side to play against, they have quality all over the pitch and lots of experience,” says Reds captain Callaghan.
“We will have to be on top of our game.”
Though the opportunity for either side to open a narrow advantage at the top of the table is motivation enough, Callaghan admits the match being broadcast live can work wonders for the League as a whole.
“It’s great to see the game being streamed by NIFL,” she adds.
“We want to attract more fans to the game and there’s no better way than to show the top two teams compete. I hope the game will showcase how good the quality is in the female game here.
“The players are focused and ready for a good challenge against a top side.”
