Dan to business

Louise McDaniel is excited to welcome the first knockout fixture of the season as Cliftonville Ladies prepare to take on St James Swifts Ladies at Solitude this evening.

The County Antrim Cup first round tie represents the first of two fixtures the Reds will contest in a 48 hour period, with Mid Ulster Ladies poised to visit BT14 on Sports Direct Women’s Premiership duty on Friday, and McDaniel is looking forward to building on some early season momentum.

“The mood within the camp is definitely high after getting off to a good start, however I think the best is still yet to come going forward,” she says.

“Having two games within 48 hours will be a great opportunity for our younger players to gain experience and express themselves.

“It’s exciting to have Cup football back. St James Swifts will be hard working and hard to break down, but it’s one we’re looking forward to.”
