Girls Academy: Under-14s in a rush

Before another big weekend of action kicks off across the various levels and age groups at Cliftonville, it’s time to check in with the latest update from our Girls Academy.

One of the standout team displays of last week saw our Under-14s (pictured) turn on the style against Portrush at Ballysillan Leisure Centre, earning all three midfield slots in our Star XI – where competition was typically fierce as players throughout our set-up caught the eye with a string of impressive performances.


Girls Academy Team of the Week (February 13)


Under-9s
Ellie was Cliftonville’s star performer in Sunday’s SBYL encounter with Bloomfield at Ulidia.

Under-11s/10s (Red)
Alesa Manea netted both of the Reds’ goals against Lisburn Rangers.

Under-11s/10s (White)
A friendly with Rosario saw Lilianna McKeown score four times alongside a finish from Niadh Fegan.

Under-14s
Mia was the name on the scoresheet as Callaghan (2) and Sullivan were on target in Cliftonville’s Ballysillan showdown with Portrush.

Under-15s
Sophie Matterson landed the Player of the Match award after joining Abigail Curley, Rionna Brennan and Anna Kelly in finding the net against Ballyclare Comrades.

Under-17s (Red)
Goals from Brook McAree and Emma Callaghan told the story against Larne Ladies at Brook Leisure Centre.

Under-17s (White)
Hannah McEntee was the hat-trick hero in the SBYL battle with Aquinas.
