Goalden streak

Ronan Hale is determined to continue letting his goals do the talking after a whirlwind start to life at Cliftonville.

The summer signing took his tally to 10 for the season with a midweek quadruple against Carrick Rangers and, as he prepares to face former employers Crusaders in the first North Belfast Derby of the campaign this evening, the 24-year-old has vowed not to change his approach.

“Last season I set myself a target and put too much pressure on myself,” he reveals.

“I said at the start of this year that I want to enjoy my football and help the team as much as possible. It’s October and I’ve got 10 goals already and five assists. Last season, I hadn’t scored by this time.

“I’m just playing with a smile on my face and long may it continue.”

You can read the full Hale interview in tonight’s edition of our Matchday Magazine, which will be on sale at Solitude for £3.

Carrying pre-match views from the Manager’s Office, The Red Eye’s seventh issue of the campaign analyses the Crues’ season to date as well as reflecting on some historical stats updated by Tuesday’s win – plus plenty more besides.
