Cliftonville 6-1 Warrenpoint Town

Joe Gormley and Ronan Hale each netted hat-tricks in Cliftonville’s pre-season friendly victory over Warrenpoint Town this afternoon.

Gormley bagged a first-half brace – opening the scoring with a looping header and making it 3-0 with a close-range finish either side of a fierce Hale blast – before his team-mates joined him on a double shortly after the turnaround.

Having been denied a treble when a dipping volley came back off the bar, Gormley duly made amends with a deft dink over the goalkeeper and, after Adam Carroll had pulled one back for the visitors, Hale completed the scoring by walking the ball into an empty net after unselfish play from Gerard Storey.
