Kirst-class approach

Kirsty McGuinness says it’s an “exciting” time to be part of Cliftonville Ladies and, ahead of tonight’s top-of-the-table clash with Glentoran Women at Solitude, has hailed the spirit that exists right through the Club.

The Reds approach this evening’s Danske Bank Women’s Premiership encounter with a two-point advantage over the Glens at the summit but, as they prepare to put their perfect record on the line, McGuinness is well aware of the size of the task that awaits.

“Of course it would be great to get the better of them and go five points clear but we know it’s going to be a really tough game because they are the current Champions so we know that to get any points at all, we are going to have to give our all and leave everything on the pitch,” she explains.

“It’s very exciting being part of this team. We have a really good mix of players with heaps of experience and a lot of young and hungry players coming thought the youth set-up.

“We always go into every training session and match with a spring in our step because we love being here and playing for this Club and when that is the case, it makes things so much easier.”
