Stars align for Tommy

Two teams of Cliftonville legends are set to compete for The Tommy Breslin Cup on Sunday – while Paddy McLaughlin will be among the opponents trying to keep them at bay!

Larne’s Inver Park home will play host to a 7aSide tournament in aid of MACS, a charity dedicated to helping children and young people, with all supporters welcome to come along and lend some colour and noise to the occasion.

‘Cliftonville A’ have been drawn in Group 2 alongside Lisburn Distillery, Crusaders, Portadown, Larne, Carrick Rangers and Derry City, meaning McLaughlin and first-team coach Marty McCann will be up against Assistant Manager Declan O’Hara when the Reds lock horns with the Candystripes.

‘Cliftonville B’ will, meanwhile, come up against Linfield, Glenavon, Glentoran, Coleraine, Dungannon Swifts and Donegal Celtic in Group 2, with both Reds line-ups set to be bossed by Breslin’s former deputy Peter Murray, which could make any potential knockout stage meeting interesting.

Another former Reds chief, Liam Beckett, will join fellow Radio Ulster commentator and host Joel Taggart for a special Question & Answer session at the event, which is set to get under way at 12pm.

Admission to Inver is set at £4 for Adults, with children welcomed for free.
