Hit for six

While four Cliftonville Ladies players participated in Northern Ireland Women’s World Cup qualifier with England at Wembley Stadium last night, six were involved in the sides’ meeting at Under-19 level in Limerick.

Captain Fi Morgan (pictured) was joined in the starting XI by Reds team-mates Shona Davis, Abbie McHenry and Grace McKimm, while goalkeeper Rachael Norney joined Erin Montgomery in making appearances from the substitutes bench.

Alfie Wylie’s side found themselves on the back foot for long stretches of the Euro 2022 qualifying tie, which finished 8-1 to England, and will hope for better fortunes when they face Group A5 hosts the Republic of Ireland at Market’s Field on Tuesday.
