Daithi’s goalden day

Cliftonville Football Club were delighted to welcome Dáithí Mac Gabhann to Solitude for yesterday’s Danske Bank Premiership defeat of Warrenpoint Town.

In attendance as the Donate4Dáithí campaign assumed the role of Official Matchday Partner at the end of Organ Donation Week, Dáithí entertained the crowd when he stepped up for a half-time attempt on goal – and certainly lapped up the celebrations after getting the better of goalkeeper Luke McNicholas.

Four-year-old Dáithí was born with a very rare and life-threatening congenital heart defect and, with all medical options having been exhausted in his fight against a leak in his tricuspid valve, his parents Máirtín and Seph are trying to raise awareness around organ donation – which you can sign up for here.

In addition to yesterday’s Matchday Partnership with Donate4Dáithí, the Club would encourage our fans to show their support by highlighting the family’s appeal via their dedicated Facebook and Twitter platforms.
