Three rein at Solitude
Cliftonville 3-0 Portadown
Cliftonville concluded their pre-season programme with victory over Portadown at Solitude this evening.
Despite dominating a first-half in which they missed a host of chances – including an effort that Seanna Foster will be reminded about for some time to come – the Reds were unable to make a mark on the scoresheet before half-time.
Though the Ports enjoyed a better spell of possession after the interval, Ryan Curran broke the deadlock with a cool finish on 48 minutes before Rory Hale and Calvin McCurry netted to end Cliftonville’s warm-up schedule on a winning note ahead of next week’s Danske Bank Premiership opener against Carrick Rangers.
