Smyth takes Olympic role

Cliftonville Football Club are pleased to announce Marc Smyth’s appointment as Manager of Cliftonville Olympic.

Marc, who will retain his position as Head of the Club’s Academy, replaces Brendan Lynch, who has taken up another coaching role at the Club.

Coaches Liam McStravick and Kris Watson, who previously worked with various age groups within our Academy, will be part of the new backroom team as the Olympic count down to next Saturday’s Steel & Sons Cup clash with Carrick Rangers Reserves – who they also face when they begin the defence of their Premiership Development League title the following week.

There are also some changes to the set-up within the Academy and NI Football League Academy teams.

Jake Newell and Ryan Catney will be coaching Cliftonville Strollers – who began the new season with a 2-1 victory over Institute Under-18s last night – with Diarmuid McNeice, Oliver McCart and Neil Privilege looking after Cliftonville Under-16s, while other updates include Sean Paul McBride, Frank Ward and Gareth Campbell taking up roles with our Under-15s.
