On a roll

Amid ongoing work to replace the pitch at Solitude, cliftonvillefc.net continues a mini-series reflecting on 11 years of 3G action.

Having commenced by reflecting on how vital the synthetic turf was in helping the Club support our local community before examining the stats behind the surface and the trophy success that Cliftonville enjoyed on the artificial grass, today we’re toasting the fact that the now departed pitch will continue to play a role outwith Solitude.

Set to be repurposed at a host of other venues, with equestrian sport benefiting from the use of the rubber crumb, the old field has been fully removed over the last couple of weeks with the first rolls of our new surface – a Domo VarioSlide S Pro 50/15 FIFA Pro pitch – being laid today.
