Linfield Ladies 2-5 Cliftonville Ladies

Cliftonville Ladies returned to the top of the Danske Bank Women’s Premiership with a thrilling victory over Linfield Ladies at Midgley Park this evening.

Ahead early on through Erin Montgomery (pictured), the Reds were three goals to the good by half-time following finishes from Niamh Connolly and Fi Morgan.

Linfield quickly reduced the arrears early in the second period when Rebecca Bassett and Rebecca McKenna got their names on the scoresheet but any hopes of a home revival were snuffed out when former Blues ace Kirsty McGuinness bagged a double that lifted Cliftonville back above Glentoran Women at the summit.
