Club Statement

We wish to make clear that Cliftonville Football Club is a sporting organisation and we will not tolerate any attacks on our ground or abuse of our staff or Members of our club.

Following repeated incidents of threats, criminal damage, hate crime, ongoing protests and yesterday’s pitch incursions by so-called Palestine protesters, Cliftonville FC wish to make it clear that all these matters are currently being dealt with by the PSNI. The Club are fully co-operating with the PSNI and have passed on all images and videos both of yesterday’s incursion and those captured at the time of the criminal damage.

While we support people’s right to protest, we condemn the use of criminal actions by some and will seek prosecutions in all cases.

Contrary to some views expressed online, we wish to correct the claim that we have failed to engage with concerned parties and we place on record that in recent weeks we have once again held meetings and engaged with Belfast BDS. We have committed to engaging further in the future and take any appropriate action we deem necessary when the situation arises to do so.

Cliftonville FC will not be bullied in any way and, as in all matters, we will do what is in the best interests of our Club, Members and supporters. The actions of some of these protestors are criminal and, unfortunately, are having an impact on our supporters being able to gain entry and avail access to matches at this time.
