Dec and cover

Declan Dunne says the work he has done alongside Aaron McCarey and Goalkeeping Coach Conleth McCrudden can stand him in good stead for tonight’s Danske Bank Premiership tie with Larne.

The 21-year-old is expected to get the nod to deputise in the face of McCarey’s suspension and, having featured in the final half-hour of Saturday’s encounter at Coleraine, is looking forward to getting back onto the pitch this evening.

“It’s good to finally get my chance, it’s been a long time,” says Dunne, who made his Cliftonville debut three years ago this week.

“Aaron has been great with me and Conleth as well. I’m just hoping when I come in that I can do the business and the team can do the business and the most important thing is getting the three points.”

You can read the full Dunne interview in tonight’s digital edition of The Red Eye, which will be available here on cliftonvillefc.net ahead of kick-off.
