Looking high and Lowe

Kris Lowe says Carrick Rangers’ lowly position in the Danske Bank Premiership will not change Cliftonville’s approach to tomorrow’s encounter.

The Reds’ final pre-split outing sees 11th-placed Gers visit Solitude for a contest where three points would provide a welcome boost for either side ahead of their end-of-term commitments in oppoosite halves of the table – but Lowe needs no reminding that Niall Currie’s side have already demonstrated their proficiency against teams higher up the standings.

“Carrick are the same as any other team in this League, they have the capabilities of beating each other and us and we are aware of that,” he warns.

“They are not a team we’ll take lightly, every point at this stage of the season is vital for us. Complacency is a cancer in any football team so it’s not something we’ll be taking lightly. It is a big challenge for us and three points is what we’ll be aiming to get.”
