A marathon effort

It has been a busy week at Cliftonville what with a North Belfast Derby, Euro 2022 celebrations for players on international duty with Northern Ireland Women and the re-opening of The Reds Shop on a Click & Collect basis – but it all started with our Supporters Liaison Officer last Saturday morning.

Michael Hegney ran the inaugural Dragonfly Marathon to raise funds for Eimear’s Wish, sponsors of Cliftonville Ladies, and has thus far generated in excess of £1800 to help support their campaign to raise awareness of stem cell donation.

Just over four hours after setting off on his first ever marathon, he was delighted to touch down at Solitude, where he enjoyed a well-deserved rest while basking in the glow of the gratitude expressed by Eimear’s family.

In Congratulating Michael and everyone at Eimear’s Wish, we advise supporters that you can continue to boost the sponsorship total online by clicking here.

You can join the Stem Cell Donor registry, or donate money to the cause, today at anthonynolan.org and dkms.org.uk.
