Cup runneth over

The Irish Football Association have today confirmed that the 2020 Electric Ireland Women’s Challenge Cup has been cancelled with the agreement of the participating Clubs.

Cliftonville Ladies had been due to host Linfield Ladies in a rescheduled quarter-final clash last month but, with ongoing Covid-19 restrictions proving too much of a hurdle for the competition to be completed in advance of the 2021 Women’s League season beginning, the Challenge Cup Committee took the decision to bring the tournament to an early conclusion.
