Curran’s confidence game

Chris Curran says Cliftonville should go into tomorrow’s Danske Bank Premiership fixture against Warrenpoint Town with confidence, but is respectful of the challenge the visitors will pose.

Having been appointed skipper during Barry Gray’s spell as Manager at Solitude, the 29-year-old knows all too well about how well-drilled and motivated the Point will be, especially off the back of an encouraging start to the season, while the Reds are themselves bidding to bank back-to-back League victories after getting the better of Carrick Rangers last weekend.

“They always make life very difficult for us and Barry knows us inside out,” explains Curran.

“It won’t be easy by any means and Barry will be coming here trying to prove a point I’m sure. He’ll have Warrenpoint fired up for it too, but we’ll look forward to it.

“We should be going in with confidence but it’s an old cliché – we’re just taking it one game at a time at the minute.”
