Cliftonville 3-0 Carrick Rangers
Cliftonville overcame the elements and a dogged Carrick Rangers display to claim all three Danske Bank Premiership points at a windswept Solitude this afternoon.
Despite being on top for the majority of the game, the Reds found their route to goal crowded out time and again before a little bit of ingenuity from Ronan Doherty on the hour set Joe Gormley up for a strike which came back off the woodwork, with Thomas Maguire on hand to scramble over the line from close range.
A sensational Gormley pass put Conor McMenamin in the clear to double the hosts’ advantage 12 minutes later before Gormley got the goal his performance deserved when he slammed home Maguire’s low delivery.
