Five star class
Cliftonville 5-0 Dungannon Swifts
Joe Gormley plundered a nine-minute hat-trick to smash the 200 goal barrier and set Cliftonville on course for an emphatic victory over Dungannon Swifts in this afternoon’s Danske Bank Premiership meeting at Solitude.
Having been frustrated throughout a tepid first-half, during which Ryan Curran’s close-range blast against the crossbar was the closest either side came to scoring, the Reds started the second period in sizzling form with Gormley breaking the deadlock before going on to add another two to take his Club career tally to a remarkable 201 strikes in 301 appearances.
A deflected effort from Ruaidhri Donnelly added to Cliftonville’s advantage before Conor McMenamin powered home the fifth in the closing minute.
