Cliftonville goalkeeper Ruadhán McKenna was part of the Northern Ireland Under 18 Schoolboy side that lifted the Centenary Shield this evening.

Victories over Wales and Scotland, as well as a goalless draw with England, meant that NI – who are managed by former Reds player Frankie Wilsion – needed only to avoid defeat in tonight’s game with the Republic of Ireland to claim the silverware – however, two goals from Callum Ferris and another from Andrew Whiteside earned a 3-1 win at The Dub to ensure an emphatic triumph.

Everyone at Solitude extends congratulations to Cliftonville Olympic keeper and Rathmore Grammar student McKenna on his role in the team’s success and for his latest recognition on the international stage.
