Stoked for film trip

Colm McBriarty and John Mallighan are the two lucky supporters who can enjoy watching ‘The Keeper’ at the cinema for absolutely free in the week ahead.

Cliftonville Football Club had two pairs of tickets to give away for the the movie about the career of legendary German goalkeeper Bert Trautmann, which tells the story of how the former Nazi paratrooper overcame post-war opposition to his presence in England and rose to become a hero of the British game, famously helping Manchester City to FA Cup Final glory in 1956 by not letting the trivial matter of a broken neck prevent him from completing the game at Wembley.

To be in with a chance of winning, we asked which English Football Club’s stadium was represented by Solitude in the film and the answer was, of course, Stoke City, whose former Victoria Ground home will no doubt be of particular interest to Colm and John when they make use of their tickets in the coming days.
