Conn do spirit
Caoimhin McConnell was at the double as Cliftonville Olympic got their season off and running with a 4-1 victory over Dungannon Swifts Reserves at Solitude this evening.
Having lost their opening two encounters, Declan O’Hara’s side were on the search for some inspiration and McConnell duly delivered with an eye-catching first.
The same player got his name on the scoresheet for a second time, with John Savage and a Dungannon own goal contributing to the overall haul for the Reds, who return to action in this Saturday’s Steel & Sons Cup Second Round encounter with Dundonald.
