Cliftonville Ladies are in the Semi Finals of the Electric Ireland Irish Cup after registering nine unanswered goals against Ballymena United Allstars this evening.
Both Amber Dempster and Leah McEvoy laid claim to the matchball with hat-tricks at Allen Park – however Dempster’s achievement of adding a fourth to her personal tally possibly strengthens her case for the memento.
Ahead when Billie Simpson converted after being teed up by McEvoy, the Reds found themselves 3-0 up before the break courtesy of Dempster and another strike from Simpson.
McEvoy netted early in the second-half before Dempster sealed her hat-trick with a double that put Cliftonville six goals to the good.
After Holly Mailey had no fewer than two goals disallowed, Dempster made it 7-0 with her fourth of the night, with McEvoy becoming the second Reds player to complete a hat-trick when she scored twice in the final quarter of an hour to complete the scoring.
