Girls get it spot on

Congratulations to Cliftonville Under 15 Girls, who lifted the South Belfast Youth League Supplementary Cup following a penalty shoot-out victory over Lisburn Rangers at Seaview this evening.

Following an entertaining 2-2 draw, the contest proceeded straight to penalties, where the Reds clinched a 4-3 win on a gripping night of Cup action.

Trailing with just 13 minutes on the clock, Cliftonville levelled through Megan Copeland before captain Fi Morgan pounced to make it 2-1.

Lisburn Rangers didn’t give up the fight, however, and scrambled an equaliser that took the tie to a shoot-out which ended with goalkeeper Norney producing the heroic save that teed Thompson up to bag the winner and ensure the trophy was Solitude-bound.
